As a center for the re-education of teachers, Elementary Education Training Center offers training courses for acquiring not only specialized knowledge and basic qualifications required of elementary school teachers but also new knowledge and teaching skills necessary in this rapidly changing globalized information era. Qualification training and general training are offered by excellent SNUE faculty in order to help trainees to be able to apply what they have learned in their classrooms. To follow current trends in distant education, online training is being expanded into wider areas.

The Distance Education Training Center was established to meet the demands of the information society and its teachers. The Center provides high-quality content for ubiquitous training and education for in-service teachers.

Lifelong Education Center seeks to satisfy the general public’s desire for learning and to provide opportunities for self-realization. With distinguished lectures both in and out of SNUE and diversified programs, including foreign languages, we provide diverse communities with wider educational opportunities.

Since November, 2000, the Center for the Education of Gifted Children in Science has been the only center of its kind in elementary education in Korea. The center provides diverse programs to fulfill the needs of gifted children in science to develop their scientific creativity, to improve their ability for scientific inquiry, and to cultivate their scientific minds and a sense of public duty to the country and the society. We offer programs to help students find unique solutions to problems, develop new investigative methods, and practice logical thinking. Our top-tier programs are run in liberal class atmospheres with gifted education professionals and scholars, to unearth young gifted scientists. The Center continuously researches and develops early identification tools, high quality gifted-in-science programs, in-depth teaching-learning methods, evaluation of gifted programs, and fundamental studies in investigating the characteristics of gifted-in-science children. In the 21st century information knowledge society, science and technology are of utmost importance in defining the power of a country. For development in science, scientists with creativity and the ability to produce new knowledge must be made. The Center for the Education of Gifted Children in Science is doing its best to nurture this brain power.
