Education is provided focused on philosophy lectures to learn about Eastern and Western philosophical classics and thoughts and lectures on in-depth policy and social issues related with the thoughts and ideology of independent societies in order to obtain professional knowledge, qualification, and characters to be in charge of the ethics and moral subject in elementary schools.

Students obtain the competencies to research the theories and texts of Korean language education, and learn the adequate teaching/learning methods and the training to prepare teaching/learning plans suitable for the Korean language subject. Students also learn about the standards on, plans of, and operation methods of subject and learning guide & operation, etc.

In-depth courses of politics, economy, history, geography, and law education and subjects related to elementary society subject are steadfastly operated to foster capable elementary teachers to contribute to generation of qualification of democratic-minded citizens.

The goal is to develop capable researchers and practitioners to study and apply teaching contents and methods of mathematics in elementary schools based on understanding of educational principles and teaching methods of elementary mathematics education.

The purpose is to develop professional elementary teachers of science education by improving the knowledge on elementary science. Courses cover a wide range of subject education needed for student-guidance based on an understanding of elementary science exploration education, basic principles of elementary science education, and practice of elementary science education.

We aim to train those who can teach physical education at elementary schools by having them develop abilities in fundamental theories and practical skills and equip themselves with sport literacy as sports leaders by gaining professional knowledge and practical skills.

The purpose is to develop professionals to provide effective music classes based on professional knowledge on music education. The gifted are taught and trained to improve the values and meanings of music education through theories and practical education to be acquired by elementary school music teachers and to plan and lead creative music classes.

The purpose is to develop fine art professionals for children through an understanding of the theories of creation, criticism, aesthetics, and art history, trend of modern fine art education, fine art education courses, teaching and learning methods, text researches, etc. for improvement of the qualifications and competencies to lead fine art learning in the field of elementary fine art education.

It is the department to change today for a better tomorrow, change the present situation to a better one, seek a happy and sustainable life of people, activate current systems by more efficient and universal methods, and seek desirable environment systems for human.

The professors and the students of the Department of Elementary Education organize learning spaces for organic activities to develop capable elementary teachers. That learning spaces are functioned by the method in which students play the sufficient roles of teachers who are ready for the educational field based on theoretical knowledge of education.

The basic goal is to improve speaking, listening, writing, and reading skills in English for developing professional elementary English teachers. Students explore the overall Western culture and literature and learn about the theories and practice of English teaching methods suitable for Korean elementary schools.

The purpose is to teach computer mechanism and teaching method by seeking systematic theories needed for elementary computer education and practicing them in order to develop competent elementary teachers who have professional knowledge on the use of computers, effective teaching plans, and a sense of duty.

It is an integrated department of early childhood education and special education in order to seek a synergy effect by sharing academic roots of child development and psychology and through integrated education and linkage operation. Depending on students’ choice, early childhood education or special education may be provided in-depth.
